EVOL
Tore Rinkveld, better known as Evol is a German artist who uses his artistic skills to explore the inner workings of Berlin landscapes. Inspired by architecture, Evol paints directly on the surface of existing city fixtures such as electric enclosures and concrete planters to create temporary street installations that encourage viewers to look at their surroundings in a different light. For his studio work, he uses found cardboard boxes on which to stencil, in order to create incredibly detailed buildings reminiscent of a pre-war Berlin. The printed graphics, tape, markings, and details left on the boxes help reflect the distressed nature and ever changing reality of the urban landscape.
