Kevin Cyr : Hommage

Cyr’s first solo show in Montreal pays Hommage to what gives the city its unique & vibrant character. This new series of paintings uses the imagery of Montreal’s modern day workhorses to talk about the space : “One can tell a lot about an area by the types of vehicles seen on its streets”.

Canadian artist Kevin Cyr explores moments of stillness in an ever changing landscape. Overrun by graffiti and rust, and in general state of disrepair; the vehicles Cyr depicts capture a specific moment in time. From delivery trucks to RVs, the vehicles are set against vivid backgrounds and rendered with incredible attention to detail.
